Maria is an Associate Director on the International Team. 

 Since joining Social Finance in 2020, Maria has led numerous projects, including designing and launching impact bonds, outcomes-based contracts, and other innovative funding mechanisms. Her work specialises in Latin America, where she has supported governments, foundations, investors, and service providers in adopting outcomes-based approaches across various issue areas, including workforce development, employment, education and gender equality. 

 Prior to joining Social Finance, Maria led Colombia's Social Impact Bonds Programme (SIBs.CO), where she was responsible for launching and implementing the country's first two employment social impact bonds and the first outcomes fund in Latin America. Maria also has experience working across multiple government departments in Colombia, leading innovative programs for disadvantaged populations in education, financial inclusion, and poverty alleviation.
