The Liberian Education Advancement Program (LEAP) is a partnership between the The Government of Liberia and non-state school operators to improve the quality of public education. Over its 8 years of supporting up to 475 public primary schools in the Liberian education system, the program has gathered valuable insights about effective support for public schools in resource limited contexts.. It has both supported quality education delivery at the classroom level and contributed to the strengthening of education delivery at the system level.

This report captures the evolutionary journey LEAP has been on since its inception in 2016, the challenges it faces as it continues to push for long term sustainability and the lessons learned for education programming from the Liberia Education Advancement Program (LEAP) perspective.

It hopes to share the experiences of the consortium of partners who have collaborated for over 8 years to support quality education in Liberia, and provide the broader sector with some recommendations based on the lessons from LEAP.

This report was authored by Social Finance in collaboration with Peter Colenso, funded by LGT Venture Philanthropy and AKO Foundation. With special thanks to the Ministry of Education and LEAP Partners, Bridge International Academies, Rising Academies Network, Street Child Liberia and Umovement.
